The turning point has arrived: the German government’s national security strategy, which appeared in June, declares the predicates of defence, resilience and sustainability to be the guiding principles of German policy and takes up the concept of integrated security. Once again, it becomes clear that economic protection means safeguarding German prosperity and is thus a matter of national security. The disruptive potentials of artificial intelligence, deepfakes and fake news are increasingly coming to the forefront of society’s consciousness due to the Russian-Ukrainian war. Extremism, global tensions, climate change and resource scarcity continue to threaten society, democracy, science and the economy.
What role will artificial intelligence play in the Germany of the new era? What opportunities and challenges arise from its global accessibility for society, politics and the economy? What do the global tensions mean for German society, politics and the economy? How can we reorganise ourselves in a crisis situation, how can we be resilient, and how do we define security in the future?
ASW West – Allianz für Sicherheit in der Wirtschaft West e.V. would like to take up these considerations and is organising the NRW Security Day 2023 under the patronage of the North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of the Interior on Monday, 7 August 2023 in the Post Tower, Bonn.
Renowned experts will provide information on this year’s theme of the event:
“German Economy at the Turn of the Times: New Intelligence – New Challenges”.
The Security Day and the subsequent get-together will offer you interesting lectures with practical impulses as well as the opportunity to exchange experiences and information with top-class speakers and guests. If you have a busy schedule, the association also offers childcare for the duration of the event.
You can find the programme here. Registration is possible via the event page.
